Fostering Local Community and Business Growth:

The vibrancy of our local business community was on full display as we successfully organized two night markets: the May Day Night Market, a collaboration with MICC and OCIT, and the Pacific Partnership Night Market, a joint effort with the US Embassy, OCIT, and RRE. These events not only showcased the diversity and resilience of our local businesses but also provided a platform for community building.

Engagement in Crucial Initiatives:

Our chamber has been at the forefront of influencing national policies, being represented on over a dozen task forces, including The National Strategic Plan (NSP), The National Adaptation Plan (NAP), The National Employment Policy (NEP), and The National Investment Plan (NIP). This steadfast commitment to shaping policies has been further fortified by the collaborative efforts behind our recently shared policy position paper, a document that resonates with both government officials and international donors.

Regional Engagement and Global Recognition:

Our commitment to staying abreast of global trends and contributing to broader conversations was exemplified by our representatives' active participation in regional conferences on diverse topics such as labor mobility and empowering women leaders. This not only positioned our Chamber as a regional influencer but also allowed us to contribute meaningfully to the broader dialogue on issues impacting our community.

Micronesia Sub-Regional Private Sector Climate Finance Workshop - Palau, June 2023

The primary objective was to enhance collaboration among North Pacific countries. The participants decided to establish the Micronesia Chambers of Commerce to foster better coordination and information sharing. This group aims to lay the groundwork for mechanisms that would simplify access to funds like the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and share information about other available grants and projects relevant to the region and its countries.
